Yami Gautam Dhar loves ethnic fashion and understated pieces
Yami Gautam Dhar has emerged as one of the finest actresses in Bollywood, and she brings something unique to every role she plays. From an intelligence agent in Article 370 to a terrifying yet misunderstood nursery school teacher in A Thursday and a beautiful flight attendant turned robber in Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga, the actor has a diverse range of films in her kitty and has proven her acting chops in almost every type of role.
Off-screen as well, Yami, who recently celebrated her birthday on November 28, has stood out in her ethnic looks, opting for simple outfits that are modest yet effortless over OTT designer outfits.
Here are some of Yami’s most beautiful moments in simple ethnic attire, where she truly nailed understated elegance.
Wearing the Purpleness of Simplicity
During the promotions for her new film HAQ with actor Emraan Hashmi, Yami wore a stunning lilac salwar suit that was absolutely radiant. It featured tiny pastel embroidered flowers along the hem that were subtle yet elegant. She added two tiny braids to her hair and kept her makeup minimal, which tied in with her signature simplicity.
A Teal Kurta–Sharara Set With Dupatta
Yami, for another round of film promotions, wore a gorgeous teal short kurti from Raw Mango that featured delicate golden embroidery. The actor paired it with sharara-style flared bottoms and a coordinating dupatta featuring a gold border. Looking magnificent, she tied her hair in a ponytail and added long, dangling, circular, burnished gold earrings to complete the look.
A Classic Kurta Embracing Yami’s Natural Charm
Looking refined, Yami wore a pink kurta with a floral design by Punit Balana that featured delicate marodi embroidery on the neckline. She paired it with a rani pink and orange dual-tone dupatta that had a gold border. A micro pink bindi, kohl-lined eyes and a glossy nude lipstick finished the look.
Keeping Calm With Some Glam
Dual-tone looks can be beautiful when done right. Yami wore a mustard-yellow kurta with intricate hand-embroidered detailing from Archana Jaju. She wore the entire set with matching bottoms that had subtle embellishments and a coordinated dupatta decorated with delicate embroidery and mirrorwork in a contrasting silver. To round off the look, she wore oxidised earrings and dual-tone gold and silver heels from Inochhi.
Radiating Elegance in a Simple Kurta Look
Yami chose an exquisite soft blush-pink kurta with subtle embroidery and a delicate neckline from Saundh for a promotional event. She paired it with a printed dupatta in matching shades of pink that features intricate prints and festive detailing in shades of gold, peach, and grey. She keeps the look simple yet gracefully refined with minimal jewellery – a kada on her wrist and earrings with her hair left unstyled.
A Statement of Confidence and Simplicity
Yami wore a beautiful greyish-brown handwoven Jamdani mulberry silk kurta by designer Suparna Som and looked stunning. She paired it with heels that were embellished with pearls and had delicate embroidery from Fizzy Goblet. To match the broad gold border on her dupatta, she added statement gold jhumkhas and a bejewelled cuff on her wrist. The actor did up her glam with pink blush, kohl-lined eyes, a subtle wing eyeliner and matte eyes.
