Just as Hyderabadi Biryani has found its place in Indian homes, banana chips have gained popularity across the country. Bananas are considered a powerhouse of energy, and the chips made from them are not only tasty but also quite beneficial.
How to Make Banana Chips At Home?
Speaking to Local18, Nafees, who runs a shop in Hyderabad, says that making banana chips is very simple.
First, peel the bananas and clean them thoroughly. Then, heat coconut oil in a pan over low heat. Coconut oil is recommended as it enhances the flavour. Next, fry the banana slices well. Once they turn light brown, take them out and add salt to taste.
If you enjoy spicy snacks, sprinkle your preferred spices over the chips and mix well. Your delicious banana chips are ready to serve. Their taste is slightly different from that of potato chips, and they contain less fat, making them suitable even for diabetic patients.
Originated in Kerala
Banana chips originated in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, where they are enjoyed with great enthusiasm. It is believed that banana chips spread across India from these states. Today, you can even find banana chips in the Old City of Hyderabad.
